Decorex Johannesburg offers online popup shops through CityMob
A Decorex SA-curated popup store, hosted by CityMob, is on sale now, leading up to the flagship exhibition, Decorex Joburg on 7-11 August 2013 at Gallagher Convention Centre, Midrand. The sale will end on 12 August.
CityMob is one of South Africa's most popular online shopping malls and Sian Steyn, GM of the portfolio, said Decorex SA was looking forward to entering the world of popup e-commerce for the first time. "We all love getting the daily CityMob email in our inbox, featuring the latest and hottest designs available at exclusive, once-off prices. I hope subscribers are going to be equally excited to see the wide variety of great designs available from Decorex SA."
Designer collection
Some of the products curated include the Decorex Designer Collection, designs from Recreate, Entrepo, Big Heart Co, Swagger, A.Scribe, Bokke & Blomme, Alice May, Heritage Weavers, Design Supply, the Shaw Sisters, Be Kind ceramics, Simple Intrigue as well as Hertex fabric-covered cushions.
The Decorex Designer Collection consists of handcrafted items in clay, porcelain and natural textiles in shades of neutrals, indigo, greys and turquoise. Designers behind the collection include Wonki Ware, Homebakes, Anthony Shapiro, the Design Team, Skinny laMinx and Lisa Firer.
Engaging local creatives
Amy Putman, buying manager of CityMob said the website was honoured to be hosting the lifestyle exhibit. "The show has become a landmark on the South African design and décor landscape, evolving into an influential brand and esteemed voice amongst a thriving community of local creatives.
"My favourite piece in this collective is Recreate's bespoke chair fashioned from a retro style suitcase. With its upcycled construction, it represents a movement in trend towards homeware that's one-of-a-kind, unique and environmentally responsible - a great example of South African design at its most innovative."
