Solve it all with Harry Pearce at DI2010

Visual puns and typographic riddles have long been a creative addiction for Harry Pearce. Collated and published just last month in his book, Conundrums, these puzzles playfully turn words into images, images into words…

So the question is…Where is the line between the two?

“I started them years ago, a love affair between typography and phrase, and they've been one step ahead of me ever since… So I have to keep following in their footsteps but always sticking to the rules: one box, two colours and a single typeface. Sometimes the more cornered you are, the more fun you have,” explains Pearce.

Addictions aside, his portfolio spans from spatial design and identity to print and packaging. As a Pentagram partner based in London, Pearce's clients include Phaidon Publishing, Williams F1, Kangol, Shakespeare's Globe, Saks Fifth Avenue, the Science Museum and Boots. He is also responsible for all the design work for the Witness human rights awareness campaign, founded by musician and activist Peter Gabriel.

You can solve it all with Harry Pearce at Design Indaba Conference from 24 to 26 February 2010 - http://www.designindaba.co.za.
