Jewel 'shines bright like a diamond'

Jewel wax polish has been a firm favourite for South Africans ever since it was first introduced. For the launch of its new range of cleaning products, Amka turned to Just Design Jhb to help carry the trusted protection and cleaning associated with the brand beyond the floor and stoep, and into the house.

The challenge for the Just Design team was how to cut through the visual clutter of an already noisy category. The solution: ‘simplicity’. A clean sophisticated approach that creates a sense of calm reassurance in a shelf full off flashes, claims and swooshes.

The design heroes both the fresh modern scents used within the range, and the products’ usage and efficacy through ingredient imagery and visuals of beautifully shined tiles and sparkling plates. The Jewel ‘Diamond’ was also given a lift with the use of foiling, giving it depth and detail along with a more premium feel that is reflected throughout the rest of the label.

Despite being new to the market, the range has already put a sparkle in the eye of the consumer, winning Neilson’s ‘Product of the Year Award’ in the Home Care Category. This consumer-voted award is based on an independent survey of over 4,000 South African households for product innovation.
