In his 33-year career at DDB, Scarpelli has created some of the most iconic, talked-about and awarded creative work in the world and under his leadership, DDB has created a large network of award-winning and innovative agencies that, based on creative output, have been named Agency of the Year in more than 25 countries. In addition, DDB has been recognised as the top creative network by Advertising Age, Adweek, Campaign, Creativity and The Gunn Report. A strong performer at all the major awards, DDB has won the most Lions and the most Grands Prix in the history of the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival.

"The Titanium and Integrated category at Cannes Lions has become the most important bellwether of the industry," says Philip Thomas, CEO of the festival.

Commenting on his role, Scarpelli said, "Attacking our clients' business issues in innovative and effective ways is critical to the future of the communications industry. We must use all the tools available to us today and invent new ones when necessary. The Titanium and Integrated Lions were created to honour that kind of breakthrough thinking. We will reaffirm that commitment in Cannes this year."
