The channel's COO Gary Alfonso has confirmed that White will be leaving the network to set up new ventures. White had been with CNBC Africa since pre-launch and headed the sales team over the past 24 months.

“The management team and I would like to thank Susie White for her efforts in setting up the sales department and building a growing sales pipeline over the past two years,” said Alfonso.

“Susie leaves a sales department which is well positioned and skilled to meet the sales target challenges of the future.”

“The time is right,“ commented White, “The sales department is up and running and getting stronger by the day. I have made a personal decision to take some time out and pursue other interests. I feel like I have done my bit in the story of CNBC Africa.”

A new department head will be announced in due course.

“It's business as usual…,” said Alfonso.
