Want to go down in the Advertiser's Hall of Fame?

The World Federation of Advertisers (WFA), founded in 1953, is celebrating its Golden Jubilee by launching a major honours scheme to celebrate the best advertising from the past 50 years.

The honours scheme will be conducted with a host of media partners who will endorse and give coverage to the event, including: Media Marketing Europe, CB News (France), ADV Express (Italy), Prisma (Portugal), Inter-national-ist (USA), ArabAd, AdAsia, Strategie (Czech Republic), AdAcademy (Romania), AdForum.com etc.

This is a unique scheme in that advertisers themselves will be judging the entries. Winners will sit on the web for years to come and be promoted by local associations and trade press partners. To be included in such a collection is evidence of an agency really making the grade amongst the world's elite.

The judges are on the lookout for the best ads in the world to be selected to enter the Hall of Fame and, of these, three will be selected in the four categories as the best of the best:

- Best Saga: Campaigns that ran over 5 years or more within the last 15 years.
- Best Campaign: Several executions on the same theme that ran within the last 15 years.
- Best Socially responsible advertisement from the last 5 years.
- Golden jubilee: The best overall award for single advertisements or campaigns over the past 50 years.

Where?

The selected ads and campaigns will be honoured at a special gala dinner to be held on October 28th, 2003, in Brussels at the WFA's 50th Anniversary Global Advertiser Congress.
