Countdown until One Show Festival

NEW YORK: Two thousand creatives from all over the world will gather in New York City on 8 - 11 May 2007 for the One Show Festival, which has attracted over 17 000 entries from 64 countries around the world. Widely recognised as the standard of excellence, the One Show awards the year’s best work in advertising, design, interactive and student work from all over the globe.

Judged by an international panel of some of the world’s top creatives, winning a One Show Pencil is considered one of the ultimate achievements in the industry.

“Good creative is good for business. And if you’re in the advertising business, New York is the place to be May 8 through 11,” says Mary Warlick, CEO of The One Club.

Young Professionals Exhibition

The 2007 One Show Festival kicks off with the 13th Annual Young Professionals Exhibition on Tuesday, 8 May, showcasing the best work from graduating seniors from around the world. Thirty-five colleges and advertising schools will participate in this year’s exhibit.

On Wednesday, 9 May, top creatives and designers from around the world will converge at Jazz at Lincoln Center for one of the industry’s most important nights, the 2007 One Show and One Show Design gala awards ceremony. Gold, Silver and Bronze Pencils will be handed out for the best print, television, radio, design and innovative media of the year.

The following evening, on Thursday, 10 May, the One Show Education Festival will culminate with the 2007 One Show Student Awards Ceremony. This year’s student brief is sponsored by the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) and the best work will be awarded Gold, Silver and Bronze Pencils.

One Show Interactive

On Friday, 11 May, the One Show Festival concludes with the interactive industry, the One Show Interactive awards. Celebrating the best in new media and web advertising, the event will take place at Skylight Studios in downtown New York.

“The One Club has organised an entire week’s worth of exceptional events that can’t be found anywhere else,” says Kevin Swanepoel, president of The One Club.

“Creatives from all advertising disciplines will have the unique opportunity to exchange ideas, network and experience the best advertising of the year.”
