The Sowetan initiates niche campaign with ComutaNet

To speak to newly wed Gauteng couples, their friends and families, garner entries, and build readership of The Sowetan, the paper is using large displays on the back panels of selected buses to advertise the annual Sowetan Bridal Couple of the Year competition.

For the four-month run up to the competition, commuters and passers-by will be reminded of the Sowetan Bridal Couple of the Year competition on the colourful ad which also prominently displays the logos of sponsors.

"The Sowetan Bridal Couple of the Year competition is Gauteng-based, which prompted The Sowetan to commission buses commuting in closely targeted areas reaching relevant commuters, pedestrians and potential competition entrants with a bold message significant to them as opposed to the entire country," says Kevin Kirby, ComutaNet's Group Marketing Manager.
