Rugby World SA licensed to In-Site Media
Giant UK publisher, IPC Magazines, a Time Warner company, has licensed the best selling Rugby World title to Cape Town-based media company, In-Site Media (Pty) Ltd., and a top team has been assembled to push out the boat.
Rob Cowan heads up the operation as managing director/publisher, while the new title is being edited by top rugby writer and broadcaster, Andy Colquhoun, with star writer Duane Heath on his outside. Maureen Warren heads up production, Mark Leighton leads the national advertising team, and Ryan Manning directs design.
"The UK title is the world's biggest selling rugby magazine and the look, feel and content are what sets it apart," says Cowan. "Our license says we have to be at least as good as the UK title so the bar has been set high for us, and both readers and advertisers are guaranteed a product of the highest quality in every respect, each and every month."
"This is no BULL, and we certainly aren't SHARKS nor CHEETAHS, and we aren't LION when we say that Rugby World South Africa is going to take the market by STORM!" quips Cowan.
The presses are ready to run for the new monthly magazine that's going to raise the bar for sports publishing in South Africa. The first issue hits the newsstands on March 24.
