A well-established industrial and engineering-focused company is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector – Trainee to join their growing operations team.
This opportunity is ideal for a technically minded individual looking to build a long-term career within quality assurance, inspection and compliance in a manufacturing and engineering.
The successful candidate will work closely with the QC supervisor and assist with quality control processes, inspection procedures, SHEQ compliance and continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
Key responsibilities
- Perform quality control inspections on incoming goods and repaired equipment
- Conduct inter-process and final inspection checks on products and assemblies
- Assist with the implementation and maintenance of quality management systems
- Support the drafting and implementation of work instructions in line with QMS requirements
- Carry out dimensional inspections using measuring equipment and gauges
- Issue calibration and conformance certificates
- Maintain quality records, documentation and filing systems
- Assist with non-conformance reporting and corrective/preventative actions
- Perform quality inspections on production parts, sub-assemblies and completed products
- Assist with dangerous goods packing and related compliance requirements
- Manage quarantine and failed stock processes
- Support weekly stock takes and inventory control within the radiation store
- Process SAP transactions relating to goods receipt, transfers and quarantine items
- Coordinate engraving and powder coating functions for components and raw materials
Minimum requirements
- Grade 12 / matric
- Valid driver’s licence
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar manufacturing, engineering or QC environment
- Experience using inspection and measuring equipment including:
- Verniers
- Micrometres
- Height gauges
- Go/No-Go gauges
- Thread gauges
- Depth gauges
Advantageous qualifications
- Quality control / internal auditing certification
- ISO 9001 implementation, awareness or auditing exposure
- TQMS diploma or related qualification
