Contract Lecturer IP and FP Mathematics

Key roles and responsibilities:

• Lecture and assess learning students in the following qualifications and disciplines/modules

Contact Learning:

• Fundamental Mathematics MAT100
• Mathematics for Foundation Phase 3 MFP402
• Compile teaching, learning and assessment materials.
• Use a learning management system independently and/or collaborate to develop and deliver modules.
• Carry out allocated internal moderation responsibilities.
• Provide academic support to students.
• Complete all Quality Assurance requirements related to the modules and programmes.
• Ensure prompt and effective communication with students, colleagues, line managers, and other members of management.
• Ensure administrative efficiency, effectiveness and compliance with all policies and procedures.
• Participate in and attend meetings and workshops.
• Fulfil functions on relevant committees, in meetings and workshops as reasonably requested by management.
• Fulfil reasonably expected administrative functions relating to the position as requested by the relevant line manager.

Minimum requirements:

• At least three years of teaching and/or lecturing experience in the relevant discipline.
• Knowledge and understanding of the subject matter.
• Experience in online teaching and learning environments.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Education Honours or equivalent qualification with relevant study in the Foundation Phase and the Intermediate Phase Mathematics.

Knowledge:

• High level of computer proficiency with good knowledge of modern Information Technology infrastructure and online learning platforms.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to cope with change 

Skills:

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Sound teaching and assessment skills
• Strong organisational skills, time management and coordination skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines.
