Area Manager

Reports to: FMS Operational Manager

Qualifications and skills
Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills: 

• Minimum grade 12 certificate
• Operations or related diploma
• Valid unendorsed code EB driver's license (previously code 08)
• At least 2 years’ proven work experience as a manager
• Intermediate computer literacy skills (MS Office) experience
• In-depth knowledge of traffic control and traffic management
• Communications skills (both written & verbal)
• Organising and planning skills
• Strong managerial skills
• Flexible availability required, including standby and overtime duties when necessary
• Continuous visits to satellite stations

Essential duties and responsibilities
The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Coordinate with the team leader to confirm staff availability and monitor staff during shift changes.
• Complete the weekly report and submit it to the operations manager.
• Collect paperwork, daily checklists, and verify fuel levels.
• Report any broken equipment to the relevant stakeholders.
• Ensure proper handover to another area manager when required and inform direct staff accordingly.
• Conduct daily site visits to ensure all staff are wearing their PPE.
• Submit the daily vehicle availability report to the TMC personnel.
• Communicate with team leaders to monitor staff movements, particularly at incident scenes.
