Barbie brings Lenny Kravitz’s rock-star style to life

Mesh, denim, sunglasses and plenty of rock ’n’ roll attitude: Lenny Kravitz is the latest cultural icon to be reimagined as a Barbie collectible, bringing his unmistakable style to the Kenbassadors collection.
Barbie brings Lenny Kravitz’s rock-star style to life

The Barbie brand is celebrating Ken’s 65th anniversary with a new collectible inspired by one of music’s most recognisable style icons: Lenny Kravitz.

The award-winning singer, songwriter, musician, record producer, actor and designer is the second honouree in Barbie’s Signature Kenbassadors Collection, following basketball star LeBron James in 2025.

With a career spanning music, film, fashion and design, Kravitz brings a distinctly rock ’n’ roll aesthetic to the collection, with the new doll recreating one of his signature onstage looks.

A tribute to a rock ’n’ roll icon

The Barbie Signature Kenbassadors Lenny Kravitz Collectible Doll takes its cues from the musician’s Blue Electric Light Tour and his distinctive approach to personal style.

The doll wears a bronze-coloured mesh cowl-neck tank with boot-leg denim jeans, a studded belt, boots and sunglasses. His trademark locs complete the look.

Rather than simply recreating Kravitz as a musician, the collectible leans into the visual identity that has become part of his wider cultural influence.

For Kravitz, becoming a Kenbassador is a milestone he describes as both unexpected and surreal.

“Barbie is an institution and as a kid growing up, I could not have imagined this,” says Kravitz. “To be chosen by Mattel as a Kenbassador, only the second one in history, is an honour and absolutely surreal.”

From music to fashion and beyond

Kravitz has built a career that extends well beyond his music, selling more than 50 million records worldwide while working across acting, design and fashion.

His genre-spanning career and distinctive personal style have made him a recognisable figure far beyond the stage, making the musician a natural addition to a collection centred on cultural influence.

The collaboration also reflects Barbie’s ongoing expansion of its collectible universe, using its dolls to celebrate figures whose work has left a mark on music, entertainment and popular culture.

Ken enters a new era

The Kenbassadors Collection was introduced in 2025 as part of the celebrations around men who have made an impact on culture, with LeBron James becoming its first honouree.

The collection arrives during a milestone year for Ken, who first debuted in 1961 and turns 65 in 2026.

Throughout the anniversary year, the character has appeared in a range of collaborations and cultural moments, including an appearance on Hot Ones with Sean Evans and a Ken x Dim Mak collection created with Steve Aoki.

Now, Kravitz becomes the latest cultural figure to join Ken’s evolving story.

Joining Barbie’s cultural icons

The Lenny Kravitz collectible follows Barbie’s growing roster of music and entertainment figures celebrated through its signature dolls and collections.

The Kenbassadors line is still in its early stages, with Kravitz becoming only its second honouree, but his addition continues Barbie’s recent focus on celebrating influential figures through fashion-led collectibles.

The Barbie Signature Kenbassadors Lenny Kravitz Collectible Doll became available online through major retailers and Mattel Creations from 17 September, with a recommended selling price of $70.

For Kravitz fans, it offers a new way to celebrate an artist whose music and unmistakable style have remained part of popular culture for decades.
