Journalists always have choiceOnce again, Caster Semenya has hit the headlines and it is the opinion of Colleen Lowe Morna that the media is failing Semenya and that, apart from needing to be more ethical in its choices, the media must get out of the armchair and do some real investigative reporting and start asking wider questions. Meanwhile, just over two years since its last makeover and over a year since its multimedia portal was revamped, the Sunday Times and The Times has once again revamped and rebranded its online presence. Now called Times Live, timeslive.co.za replaces the existing web domain of thetimes.co.za. This highlights once again the importance of the functionality and usability of content management systems (CMS), especially in today's media environment, and their impact upon newsroom processes. For those of you wanting to know the results of the survey into the use of social media and other online technology tools by local PR, run by Sentient Communications in conjunction with Bizcommunity.com, you'll find the highlights in Social media - PR's new BFF and more detail in our Reference section in our Library. Many thanks to all the agencies which participated in this study. See you all at Loeries next week! Simone Puterman PS In this week's Ornico Ad Showcase, we feature TV ads for Mazda, M-Net, Avis, Cell C and Liberty Life, and radio ads for Ace, Clorets, MWeb, SuperSport and Vawter. Please send all marketing and media news to marketingnews@bizcommunity.com and opinion pieces to contributors@bizcommunity.com.
