Steyns winning boot
Bok captain has praised “the rocket launcher” boot of fullback Franscois Steyn, after the Boks took the Tri-Nations in emphatic form.
It was certainly a game to remember, Steyn banged over three penalty's from inside the South African half each penalty at a more than respectable 60-57metres. Steyn's boot did not only give South Africa the lead but killed the All Blacks momentum.
Bakkies Botha and Victor Matfield proved to be the best lineout pair in international rugby thus far in my opinion and were excellent at reading the New Zealand lineout. They put pressure on the All Blacks through lineout's and dominated in the scrum, New Zealand had nowhere to turn.
"You have to get the blend right in this competition; you can't stick to one thing only. It comes down to decision-making and some of the decision-making has been very good, some of it just good and last week it was not so good," De Villiers said.
After this weekend South Africa triumphs over the southern hemisphere's major event. The victory over New Zealand secured the title leaving them comfortably on top with 21 points. Even if Australia wins the closing match against New Zealand on Saturday they're still 8 points shy of the new Tri-Nations champions.
