Working for one of the largest IT Distributors in South Africa it is my duty to ensure that our staff group and country wide have the tools to function in their job i.e. notebooks, desktops and peripherals. Our team of technicians have 48 hours from the time a call is logged to have the required equipment configured and ready for dispatch. I control inventory of equipment and have to allocate spec according to the job specific function. Being the first port of call I am exceptionally deadline orientated and am required to multitask, prioritise and apply clear and constant communication with the team. Lack of diligence on my part would halt their operation. I apply strong organisational and planning skills with a sense of urgency to ensure that this operation runs smoothly whereby I am required to perform strong leadership skills. I practice proactive diligence with equipment retrieval as major monitory losses to the company could be incurred. I work closely with the HR Department to ensure that their calls are logged accurately for staff changes as Domain access is strictly controlled. The failure to block terminated staff access would lead to illegal access of business sensitive information.

My duties include Procurement and Capex of all IT related group fixed assets. Keeping such a comprehensive accurate Fixed Asset Register requires meticulous attention to detail. I am liable for a successful financial asset audit. I receive all IT related Creditors and adhoc invoices and statements, do budget allocation, update budget actuals and obtain authorisation signatures ensuring timeous submission to Finance Department. Missing or late submission of paperwork would lead to suspension of business-critical services such as data communication and telecoms.

In this fast-paced environment, I have to be flexible, highly self-motivated and perform well under pressure.
