New MD for McDonald's South Africa

McDonald's South Africa has appointed Greg Solomon as their new Managing Director. Solomon's promotion, effective 1 January 2009, is a significant milestone for the company as he will be the first South African to run the local operation since the business opened here in 1995.

Solomon has been with McDonald's for 12 years and has held a number of senior positions in the business since joining the company in 1996 as a project manager in the construction department. He holds a BTech degree in Civil Engineering as well as a Business Administration Diploma. He takes over the reins from Darren Hall, who will be returning to the USA to pursue his next challenge with the company.
