Student film funding proposal

This production takes place in rural Venda, Limpopo Province. The film would address the Post colonial dilemma faced by young South Africans as they search for identity. The specific focus is on identity construction in rural communities dislocated from urban centers. The narrative also directly deals with several key issues faced by South African females, such as violence against women, sexual abuse, single-parenting and the HIV/AIDS pandemic.

However this production will not be realized without sponsorship and we are therefore writing to your organization for either monetary or in-kind support.

This project is to take place at the end of July and the estimated budget is R30 000. The production was expecting sponsorship from the Thulamela Municipality and had received verbal confirmation of support but recently received word that after reviewing their budget, the municipality was unable to offer the production any financial assistance.
