Wow Marketing Services, a dynamic agency based right here in Cape Town, is seeking an enthusiastic Junior IT Technician / Engineer to join our team! About the role:

As our Junior IT Technician, you will be the first point of contact for internal IT support, ensuring our Cape Town-based team has the technical assistance they need to excel. You'll gain hands-on experience providing essential desktop support and contributing to the smooth running of our IT operations. Please note: This position is permanently based at our offices in Cape Town.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Providing first-line technical support to Wow Marketing Services employees for hardware, software, and network issues (desktops, laptops, peripherals).
• Installing, configuring, and maintaining computer hardware, operating systems (primarily Windows), and applications.
• Troubleshooting and resolving basic network connectivity issues (LAN, Wi-Fi).
• Setting up new user accounts and workstations.
• Assisting with the management of IT inventory and assets. Logging and managing support requests using our helpdesk system.
• Escalating more complex issues to senior staff or external vendors when necessary.
• Contributing to IT documentation and knowledge base articles.
• A recent graduate holding a relevant IT qualification or studying towards one (e.g., Diploma in IT, BTech, or similar).
• Relevant foundational IT certifications such as CompTIA A+ or N+ are highly advantageous.
• Good understanding of computer hardware, software installation, and operating systems including Windows Server (Windows essential).
• Excellent Office 365 Skills
• Fundamental knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a logical approach to troubleshooting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills – you need to be able to assist colleagues clearly and patiently.
• A proactive attitude and a genuine eagerness to learn new technologies and skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Minimal formal work experience required – your qualification, foundational knowledge, certifications (if any), and attitude is key!
• Must be based in or willing to work full-time from our Cape Town office.
