Wegbreek loses Supreme Court case

The Cape Supreme Court ruled in favour of publishing house Ramsay, Son and Parker on Wednesday - and against Media24 regarding the publication of the magazine Wegbreek. Ramsay, Son and Parker, which publishes Getaway magazine, took Media24 to court to stop the publication of Wegbreek, which they alleged was a 'copycat' of Getaway, albeit in Afrikaans. Media24 said in a brief media alert that they intended to submit leave to appeal the judgment today, Thursday. Media24 said it was currently discussing the verdict with its legal team and had "taken cognisance" of the ruling.
