Cell C launches branded mobile phone

Cell C unveiled its first branded handset last week, which is manufactured for the network provider by Huawei. The Cell C F250 features an MP3 player, Java applications and games, 2MP camera and video recorder, 15MB on-board memory and an integrated web browser with pre-loaded shortcuts to Facebook and YouTube for easy upload of pictures and videos. The handset is UMTS900 compatible, which is said to provide faster data speeds as it runs on Cell C's HSPA+ 900/2100 network. In addition to the phone, customers will also receive 200MB of data, 50 on-net minutes and 100 SMS's once-off, when they activate their Cell C Welcomepack sim card. The Cell C F250 is available at all Cell C retail outlets for R499.
