Amazon looks to samples to spur purchases
According to Axios, Amazon has been using users' purchasing history to send them tailormade samples. Though it is unclear how long the programme has been running, The Verge reckons that it forms part of the e-commerce company's overall advertising strategy.
The samples are part of a partnership between Amazon and select brands that allows the brands to send users free samples, in the hope of spurring further purchases. It also appears that all users automatically opt-in.
