Safa says sorry for no Afcon qualifier broadcast
The South African Football Association (Safa) has apologised to South Africa and soccer fans after the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) failed to broadcast the Bafana Bafana vs Nigeria Afcon qualifier that took place on 17 November 2018.
The SABC allegedly declined Safa's offers to broadcast the game. Safa offered the match and the Nelson Mandela Challenge match to the SABC for a rights fee of R10m and then R7.5m.
SABC indicated it wanted to broadcast the match, but it did not have the funds available.
