Tito Mboweni shares context to war tweets against media
Finance minister Tito Mboweni and a South African National Editors' Forum (Sanef) delegation recently met in Pretoria to discuss the minister's recent social media posts that threatened war against the media.
At the meeting, Sanef reiterated its concerns around increased physical threats to journalists and the critical importance of government leaders protecting and strengthening constitutionally-guaranteed freedoms.
Mboweni shared the context to his posts at the meeting, which included a number of events where he felt his rights were seriously violated through unethical and reckless journalism.
