The Mother City Queer Project (MCQP) celebrated its 30th anniversary on 14 December 2024 at Gardens Commercial High School in Cape Town with a dazzling ‘Mother of Pearl’ theme. The venue transformed into an otherworldly escape, featuring four vibrant dancefloors: Purgatory, The Devine, The Depth, and The Pulse.
Guests also experienced the bold "Sirens of the Deep" immersion, celebrating queer eroticism and liberation. Since 1994, MCQP has been a cornerstone of Cape Town’s social calendar, showcasing queer joy and visibility. Curated by The Golden Hour team for the second year, the event brought together past fans and newcomers for an unforgettable night.
