Constantly fed bad news
I think that one of the reasons that South Africans are so negative is that we're fed bad news every half an hour on the radio.
A full news bulletin on the half hour and then headlines on the hour. That means that every half hour we're told about killings, rapes, financial doom and gloom, corrupt politicians, the terrible state of education, health, unemployment etc. It never ends. Constant bad news cannot make people feel positive. Bad news is Bad News! Don't feed it to us non-stop. Tell us the good things that are happeneing in this country, about the positive strides we're making. Feed us non-stop positivity.
