Advanced Programme in Photography open for applications
Applications for the year-long Advanced Programme in Photography (AP), run with the support of AusAID, the Open Society Institute, the National Arts Council, and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands at the Market Photo Workshop in Johannesburg, close on 4 August 2011.
The programme is aimed at developing contemporary photographers and is best suited for:
- Someone who has successfully completed a Photo Workshop Intermediate Course or an equivalent level of course (and achievement) from another institution
- A person who can demonstrate the necessary skills and knowledge in a portfolio presentation
- Persons with recognised prior learning in photography who wish to develop a critically informed approach to photography practice in different contexts.
The course, which begins on 24 August 2011, is designed to give participants the structure necessary to explore, in their preferred genre, an independent and self-motivated body of photographic work as well as a comprehensive portfolio.
A limited number of bursaries are available for deserving candidates; awarded on a performance bonus structure calculated on merit, financial need, and performance.
