The Stellenbosch Academy of Design and Photography had an extremely successful year in 2016. The Academy was voted the number one educational institution by the Loeries and the Pendorings. In addition, our students were recognised in various competitions during the year. Some highlights include:
World Packaging Organisation’s WorldStar Student Awards
Congratulations to Lhente Strydom and Stephanie le Roux who were awarded certificates for the World Packaging Organisation’s WorldStar Student Awards.

Student Gold Pack Awards – Gold and Bronze!
The results of the Student Gold Pack Awards were announced and the Stellenbosch Academy of Design and Photography is delighted to announce that Lhente Strydom won the overall student gold and was the winner of Project 1, while Stephanie Le Roux won an overall student bronze and was named runner- up of Project 2.
Our finalists, who also received certificates of recognition, were: Ashton Winkworth, Alida van der Westhuizen and Alexandra Hanson.

Two of our students, Michelle van Sittert and Carel Pretorius made it into the finalists for the AdFocus Awards in the student category. This ‘student of the year’ award is based on a portfolio of work rather than just a single piece – visit the Academy blog on our website, to see the work entered.
Two of our students accepted into ISTD
It’s been a year of great news and we’ve got even more to share with you! Two of our students, Caylin van der Walt and Saffron Shaw have just been accepted into the International Society of Typographic Designers after undergoing rigorous, painstaking assessment!
