Decorex Cape 2004 wins with flying colours
The décor and design show Decorex Cape, owned and organised by South Africa RAI, walked away with the prestigious honour as the Exhibition of the Year in the category Trade & Consumer: 4001 - 8000m², for the second year running.
According to Melanie Froneman, director of Decorex SA, winning the award for the exhibition held in Cape Town holds special significance, as the region is viewed as the hub of innovative design in the country.
"The 21st century is said to be the age of aesthetics, setting huge demands for designers to cross the borders of mere functionality. To provide a showcase worthy of the high quality of the Cape's décor and design industry is of utmost importance, acting as a growth engine for our exhibitors," says Froneman.
"We did not rest on our laurels after winning the award in 2003, putting our energy and creativity into re-imagining Decorex Cape 2004. We are elated that the revitalised new-look Decorex Cape passed the high standards set by the EXSA judging panel with flying colours."
According to Froneman a host of new initiatives will be incorporated across the Decorex SA portfolio in 2005. "Being the biggest and the best is a strong motivator to keep on re-inventing the exhibition'. Décor and design professionals and passionates will find inspiration at Decorex Cape, Decorex Kzn and Decorex Jhb like never before."
