Each canvas was assigned to one word. The first 10 artists were instructed to interpret that one word on one-half of the canvas. Once finished, their interpretation was covered up and those same canvasses was given to a batch of 10 new artists, who then did the exact same exercise on the other half of the canvas.
Ross Chowles of Bright Creative Space says, "The results are shocking and mesmerising at the same time. I have been fortunate enough to see how two different artists could interpret the same word throughout the process. For one day only, the public will be able to see the combinations and comparative outcomes of two very different people coming together, which makes this exhibition compelling."
For each canvas sold, 25% of the proceeds will go to the 'Brands for Literacy project'.
The exhibition is open from 10am-7pm on 28 January 2015. For more information, email Nicole at az.oc.yadthgirb@ofni or call +27 (0) 21 448-5527.
