Top newspaper finalists announced

The Publishers Support Services (PSS) has announced the 2017 finalists of the Frewin, McCall and Joel Mervis Awards. Judging the entries was Clive Loxton, creative faculty head of the AAA School of Advertising and convener of judges and Logan Naidu, Tebogo Serobatse and Linda Rademan.

(This recognises urban daily newspapers with a circulation above 50,000 that excel in the criteria laid down by the industry)

The 2017 Standard Bank Sikuvile Awards, which this year incorporates the Frewin, McCall and Joel Mervis Awards, is an annual recognition of excellence in South African journalism. The Awards ceremony will take place Thursday, 19 October at The Venue Greenpark, also known as Johannesburg World Trade Centre in Sandton, Gauteng.
