Mercury editor shot in attempted hijacking

David Cannining, editor of the Mercury newspaper in KwaZulu-Natal, was shot and wounded at an attempted hijacking at his Durban house last night, Tuesday, 8 May 2007, according to the Mail & Guardian Online. He is reported to be in stable condition in hospital. For more, click here.
