Franchise Award finalists announced
The Franchise Association of Southern Africa (FASA) has announced the finalists in their annual Awards for Excellence in Franchising. The winners will be announced at a Gala Event at Caesars, Gauteng on Friday 10th October 2003.
Says Nic Louw, Executive Director of FASA, "South Africa leads the continent of Africa in having the most advanced and sophisticated franchise systems - comparable to the best in the world - and we are proud to honour those franchisors and franchisees that have risen to the pinnacle of their success."
The finalists in the five categories are:-
FRANCHISOR - LEADING DEVELOPER OF EMERGING ENTREPRENEURS
This category, sponsored by Pleasure Foods, focuses on the need to empower the small business sector and encourages the franchise ethic in our emerging markets. The finalists in this category are:
BRAND BUILDER OF THE YEAR
Sponsored by Khula Enterprise Finance, this Award honours those companies who have, through advertising, promotional campaigns and consumer awareness, taken their brands to new heights.

NEWCOMER FRANCHISOR OF THE YEAR
This category, sponsored by Standard Bank, honours those that experiment, innovate and are not scared to take risks. The finalists are:-
FRANCHISEE OF THE YEAR
Nominations for this category, which is sponsored by ABSA Bank, come from franchisors who nominate their best performing franchisees for the honour. The finalists are:-

This most prestigious award, which is sponsored by First National Bank, celebrates the success of the franchisor who has made a significant impact in the marketplace and who has, through effective business management and marketing, achieved outstanding financial results and a significant growth in his sector.
