Fast texter competition in SA
Qualifying rounds for South Africa's fastest texter open today, Monday, 30 August 2010, as part of the LG Mobile World Cup South African Championship 2010. Local prizes include R50 000, R20 000 and R10 000 and a Chatterbox Plus handset to the top three winners.
The first and second place contestants automatically qualify to the world championship, with a prize of US$ 100 000 being held in New York in January 2011.
Entrants, using their mobile handsets, log on to the WAP site http://za.lgmobileworldcup.com/ to register. An automated system will log all entries and update the top 10. The top eight attend the South African championship on 30 September 2010. The current world record is a 264-character sentence in just two minutes.
