Cannes to showcase mobile marketing

The opportunities of location-based mobile marketing will be showcased by mobile marketing companies BLIP Systems and N’volve, from Denmark, at the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival in June 2007. The workshop will show how to take one of today’s most powerful communication tools and turn it into tomorrow’s most powerful advertising media.

The workshop, which will take place on Friday, 22 June, between 2pm - 4pm, will be the first of its kind. Besides showcasing mobile marketing solutions from around the world, the workshop will include full demonstrations of location-based mobile marketing in a live environment, with real-time results and data stats.

The Mobile Marketing Association predicts that 89% of major brands are planning to market via mobile phones by 2008, as well as more than half are planning to spend up to 25% of their marketing budget on mobile marketing.

BLIP Systems and N’volve will present an overview of how to use the mobile phone as a medium and how to provide the greatest user experience, displaying a communication that is instant, personal, permission-based and sometimes dependent on your actual location. They will also include presentations of brand case studies within Bluetooth proximity marketing, SMS, MMS messaging and GPRS/WAP in the workshop.

In addition to presenting at the Content Showcase, BLIP Systems and N’Volve will also be taking part in the international exhibition surrounding the events of the week. They can be found at Content Showcase Stand 10.10, where they will be providing a Cannes Lions Mobile Service that will include all relevant festival information, for instance the short listings and a ‘latest announcement’ section.
