Cadbury competition brings tears of joy

The current Cadbury Lunch Bar on pack promotion received over 350 000 SMS entries and 25-year-old Thembi Mahlaba, from Qwa Qwa in the Free State, was randomly selected as the winner of R250 000.

The on-pack promotion ran concurrently with the brand's sponsorship of the local version of the worldwide TV phenomenon ‘SA's Got Talent'. Thembi was invited to attend the grand finale in Johannesburg last week where Mike Middleton, Cadbury Chocolate marketing director Middle East and Africa awarded her her prize.

“We received a phenomenal number of entries and it was a great privilege to have presented Thembi with the grand prize,” says Middleton. Thembi, who is currently unemployed, plans to spend the money on educating her two young children and possibly buy a house for her family.
