“Pendoring’s campaign line this year was MzansiGlots Unite – and they really did,” says Eben Keun, Pendoring’s GM, “We saw an impressive growth in entries from 2020 to 2021, with numerous entries displaying both exceptional use of our indigenous languages and clever cultural insight. We are especially proud to see entries from the publishing industry continue to grow, particularly the number of children's book entries in the Publication Design category, which is encouraging considering the importance of home languages at the early childhood development level.”

Boniswa Pezisa, Pendoring jury president, says: “The 2021 Pendoring Award competition saw an increase in the total number of entries, as well as the quality of work entered – the competition entries grew by a phenomenal 24% with digital communications outgrowing the rest of the categories.
