Faith feints, dodges Hlaudi weather

NEWSWATCH: In parliament last Tuesday, 26 August, reports BD Live, Communications Minister Faith Muthambi evaded answering opposition MPs' questions on the appointment of SABC COO Hlaudi Motsoeneng, who has been labelled a 'pathetic liar' by the general secretary of the Creative Workers Union of SA, reports IOL.

  • MyBroadband: The SABC COO advertisement for Hlaudi Motsoeneng's job... The position of Chief Operations Officer at the SABC was advertised in Sunday Times on 3 February 2013 (view the advert here). The advert clearly states the position of Chief Operations Officer at the SABC requires a relevant degree or diploma for the position. In fact, under the subheading Requirements, the very first requirement is "A relevant degree/diploma and/or equivalent qualification".

Yesterday, reports IOL, actor and playwright John Kani said that the dispute between the SABC, production company MMSV and the fired Generation soapie actors, is being handled in an apartheid manner, and he is quoted as saying "it carries the residue of an apartheid-style master, servant relationship."
