Visit The Boma for an ultra-sensory dinner and show

The Boma at Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, has undergone a facelift and transforms a dinner around a campfire into a night of ultra-sensory experiences. The Boma's Dinner & Drum Show combines local flavours, song, dance, drumming and much more - here you'll be asked to engage with sight, sound, taste, smell, and touch.

On arrival, guests are welcomed and draped with a complimentary "chitenge" (the local "sarong") and invited to take part in a hand-washing ceremony before enjoying pre-dinner local snacks and traditional beer.

The African drumbeats speak to the soul and – with the traditional dancers – act as the soundtrack for the evening. The interactive entertainment weaves its way through the Show with diners being treated to folk storytelling, face painting, and hair-braiding. The “throwing of the bones” and having one’s fortune told by a Sangoma adds mystique to the spectacle.

The sumptuous four-course meal features a substantial barbecue buffet and, for the adventurous eater, local delicacies such as mopane worms, game stew, and traditional Zimbabwean dishes.

Well-known hospitality chef Arnold Tanzer assisted The Boma’s team in designing and tweaking the novel menu from the kitchen to create a contemporary feel without losing the traditional Zimbabwean flair.

The evening takes another dramatic turn after dinner when guests are invited to take part in the interactive drumming extravaganza. The Boma Dinner & Drum Show is a unique Zimbabwean experience; a Victoria Falls attraction like no other.
