Tune in to hopeful DJs on Youth Day
On Youth Day, 16 June 2012, the winning six participants in the 94.7 Highveld Stereo young DJ competition will be spinning their mixes live at The Zone @ Rosebank from 6pm. Each set will be a lead up to the 94 hits in a row. The show stays live until midnight.
A call to enter was directed at DJ enthusiasts between the ages of 13-18 who were encouraged to send through their own commercial mix for selection. Gavin Deysel trained the elected six entrants, who each received a professional pair of headphones.
"The acknowledgment and development of the natural abilities that our youth possess is the focal point of this upcoming event. Dubbed as a 'master-mixer', the commitment of Deysel in assisting these entrants will ensure that the day behind the decks is one to be remembered," said Ravi Naidoo, station manager of 94.7 Highveld Stereo.
