More voices for OFM

OFM today, Tuesday, 27 January 2009, announced its new lineup for 2009, commencing next week, which will see the addition of an extra show during the day and the injection of more energy, more competitions and more opportunities to interact with the radio station on multimedia platforms.

Said Tim Zunckel, OFM programme manager, “The experience, passion and talent of our current lineup has built an amazing audience who are loyal and enthusiastic about OFM, our music and events. The addition of four new voices is a commitment to our listeners that we are continually striving to provide the most memorable music and excellent entertainment.”

Afternoon Drives will be presented by Rian van Heerden, who will be returning to his first love, radio. Van Heerden will present Mambo Jumbo, 3pm - 6pm. It is expected that he will bring his unique approach and views to the fore during the show with his usual wit and unconventional style.

The popularity of the Sports Cage across central South Africa has led to the show being extended to an hour. Presented by Bernie Naude, the Sports Cage will now run 6pm - 7pm.

Night time

Night time radio will be powered by Kenzy Vinco, who joins OFM from Vodacom's Yebo Radio. Vinco has a strong background in the industry and will add her young yet mature stance to the early evening.

Nico van der Westhuizen will present Night Moves from 22h00. He has been a strong personality on the weekend schedule, according to OFM, and promises a maverick approach to the late nights.

Andre Kunz, a recent winner at the South African Radio Forum Awards, will be joining OFM to present Beyond Midnight on weekday mornings, with a mix of fresh fun and entertainment. TV personality Irene Fischer will also be joining the station as the personality behind OFM traffic.

The rest of the weekday lineup features the voices and faces that are by now synonymous with OFM: The Wimpy Big Breakfast with Pieter Möller and Christie, 6am - 9am; Tim Thabethe's Tim Time, 9am - 12 noon; and Eloise Pretorius, 12 noon - 3pm.

Weekends

Over weekends, Mardi Delport will still be waking up listeners, 6am - 9am. Lindsay Batteson will turn up the heat with all your favorites with the OFM Top 40 countdown on Sundays, 1pm - 5pm. The Party Zone with Meloni Munro sets the tone for a Saturday night from 7pm. The Sunday Sessions set the tone to a relaxed atmosphere to end the weekend with a selection of hand-picked songs.

Inspiration for the week is provided by Phillip Kotze, who continues to provide food for the spirit from 8pm on Sunday nights. Marian Nyako Lartey will present the 10pm - 1am show on weekends and Kobus Kolver will take you into the new week from 1am - 5am.

The new line up can be heard on OFM from Monday, 2 February 2009. Go to www.ofm.co.za for more information on the upcoming events and competitions.
