Celeb Radio is back on OFM
In June this year, Celeb Radio will be back on the OFM airwaves weekdays between 9am and 1pm. Celeb Radio gives well-known and well-loved South African celebrities the opportunity to host their own unique radio show for a whole week. Celebrities are assisted and supported by OFM presenters.
This year, Leah van Niekerk, Kurt Darren and David Kau will join us on the airwaves.
Says OFM General Manager, Nick Efstathiou: "Launching Celebrity Radio in 2015 was a new and daring concept. However, its success was phenomenal and therefore we decided to host Celeb Radio again this year. We are excited about welcoming Leah, Kurt and David to our studios and look forward to three weeks of entertaining and totally exclusive radio!"
Capetonian Leah van Niekerk released her first album Wonderwerk in 2015. She received a Bokkie Award for Newcomer of the Year and was nominated for four Ghoema Awards. She is probably best known for her hit song "Met Jou Klere Aan". She has also featured on the big screen in the film "As Jy Sing" and on the small screen in the television drama "Sterlopers".
Kurt Darren needs no introduction and is an old friend of OFM. Winner of numerous awards, including seven SAMA Awards, Darren is one of South Africa's most loved singers.
"With 21 studio albums under his belt, Kurt is certainly no stranger to the microphone. We look forward to seeing how he translates his experience on stage to a radio studio environment!" says Efstathiou.
Finally, comedian David Kau will no doubt have listeners in stitches from the get-go. David rose to fame in The Pure Monate Show, which he co-created and produced. He has headlined numerous comedy festivals and was co-presenter of the Nelson Mandela 46664 concert.
