New radio station for Sterkspruit
A local radio station for Sterkspruit, conceptualised in November 2008 by the area's youth to solve the problem of lack of communication between the municipality and its people, has been launched.
LA-FM107.2 is going on air on 1 September 2014 with its first show being Rise and Shine, the station's breakfast show. It will broadcast shows in Xhosa, English, Sotho and Afrikaans. The station will be heard in such areas as Sterkspruit, Zastron, Aliwal North and parts of Lesotho and is aimed at the 15- to 55-year-old age group.
Platform for engagement
The Station Manager, Ignatius Mnyamana said "The station intends to fill a gap that exists in broadcasting and be a platform for engagement for those who want to see their lives improve and the country at work."
The radio station prides itself in being creative, imaginative and relevant. With its advert creation services within the station, there is no compromise on quality - from music to adverts. This is made possible by a management team of four that has more than 10 years media industry experience in journalism, programming, marketing and technical.
The management is backed up by new and fresh voices, which are proficient and adept. For the past 14 months, the management has been working as educators - helping prepare the station's hosts. The station will also offer events management services and voice over artist services.
