Cape Milner's rooms get new look

The Cape Milner hotel beneath Table Mountain on the edge of Cape Town's CBD has unveiled 45 newly refurbished standard rooms. The revamped rooms have been fitted with new furniture and amenities, as well as floors and ceilings resulting in an urban chic look. The new look and feel now links perfectly with the rest of the boutique hotel in Tamboerskloof.

The rooms have a spacious feel which has been achieved by using a neutral palette with a play on texture and vibrant accents. The warm texture of the timber floors and paneling are contrasted with the white duco units, mirror panels and white bed linen. Taupe tones provide the perfect backdrop for the creative artwork of South African photographer Kyle Mijlos, taken during his travels throughout Africa. Silk cushions and chenille throws provide a splash of colour to the rooms.

Interior designer Beth Murray has been involved with refurbishments at the hotel for almost a decade, ensuring that the property's style keeps continuity as it evolves. "The Cape Milner's style hasn't changed a great deal, but the revamp of our rooms have made it more current," says Murray.
