Gary Bisset says cheers to the hotel industry

After 21 years as an operations director at the City Lodge Hotel Group - and 43 years in the hospitality industry - Gary Bisset is starting a new chapter in his life from the beginning of November.

He joined the City Lodge Hotel Group in 1994 when the group acquired the Courtyard Hotel chain and has since then been involved in running hotels across the group's brands - including Courtyard Hotel, City Lodge Hotel, Town Lodge and Road Lodge.

A well-known personality in the hotel industry, he worked at Southern Sun and Holiday Inn before joining Courtyard and then the City Lodge Hotel Group. He is a graduate of the Wits Technikon, which is today part of the University of Johannesburg's School of Tourism and Hospitality.

What will he miss the most? "The people," said Gary. What is he most looking forward to. "A new lifestyle."
