Danny Bryer, director of sales, marketing and revenue of Protea Hotels, said that the design is sleek and fits the new, modern Protea Hotel Fire & Ice! concept like Pharell Williams' Grammys hat.
"We're blown away by the new design. It makes a statement. We're doing incredibly exciting things with glass and lighting that will make it feel like an entirely different space depending on what time of day you walk into the hotel.
"It's difficult not to say too much right now because we're so amped, but there's no doubt that it's going to be the hottest place to hang in Cape Town when the hotel's public spaces are revealed on 1 September."
Even the unisex public restrooms are being given an entirely new, sleek look and the hotel is adding a sexy private dining component.
"The Protea Hotel Fire & Ice! concept has always excited the eye and the mind and this evolution is no different. It's going to take cool to a whole new level," said Bryer.
The hotel remains open for business during the renovation.
