Le Franschhoek Hotel & Spa appoints new F&B manager
Le Franschhoek Hotel & Spa, owned and managed by the Three Cities Group, has appointed Steven van Zyl as their new food and beverage manager. Having spent 12 years in the hospitality industry, specifically within food and beverage management, Van Zyl has gained invaluable experience both locally and abroad and before joining the award-winning Le Franschoek Hotel held a similar position at Pearl Valley Golf Estate in Paarl.
"I am proud to join Le Franschhoek Hotel & Spa, with its top class gourmet offerings and accomplished culinary team already in place. The property has become a landmark culinary destination in the Western Cape, as emphasised by its numerous international travel and hospitality awards," says Van Zyl.
He began his career as an assistant restaurant manager at the Isle of Glencoe Hotel in the United Kingdom where he acquired expertise in the service industry. Returning to South Africa, he served as the operations manager at St. James of Knysna and his dedication to the hospitality industry resulted in a swift climb up the ranks to food and beverage manager at the Fairlawn's Boutique Hotel and Spa in Johannesburg, before he moved on to the food and beverage department of the Southern Sun Hotel Waterfront in Cape Town.
