The first-of-its-kind independent Afrikaans found-footage film. This sci-fi mystery from writer-director Derick Muller is set in South Africa in 1967 and follows four South African Republican Intelligence Agents as they investigate an unidentified object that landed on a farm in the Karoo. They record this footage with their Super 8 and 16mm cameras. What follows is a mystery that will keep you guessing until the very last line.
The cast includes Albert Maritz (Griekwastad, Fynskrif, Trackers), Pietie Beyers (Binnelanders, Vergeet My Nie) and Morné Visser (The Kissing Booth, The Harvester, Dis ek, Anna).
A family fights for survival as a planet-killing comet race to Earth. John Garrity (Gerard Butler), his estranged wife Allison (Morena Baccarin) and young son Nathan make a perilous journey to their only hope for sanctuary. Amid terrifying news accounts of cities around the world being levelled by the comet’s fragments, the Garrity’s experience the best and worst in humanity while they battle the increasing panic and lawlessness surrounding them. As the countdown to global apocalypse approaches zero, their incredible trek culminates in a desperate and last-minute flight to a possible safe haven.
This thriller is directed by Ric Roman Waugh from a screenplay by Waugh, Chris Sparling and Mitchell LaFortune.
