Shaving away disease
The Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) will host the CANSA Shavathon 2005 in December this year to raise money for cancer awareness and prevention by offering a shave or colour-spray for a donation of R50.
The national event, which aims to raise R10 million, will take place on Friday, 2 December 2005 for schools and corporate South Africa. On Saturday, 3 December, members of the public can get a shave or spray at leading shopping centres countrywide.
"The CANSA Shavathon 2004 was the most successful fundraising event for the association yet and we are very excited about a bigger and better 2005 Shavathon," said Wilhelm de Wet, CANSA CEO.
