Toyota Father and Sons' Cricket Clinics draw to a close
Toyota South Africa, official vehicle supplier to Cricket South Africa (CSA), and the Proteas have successfully completed another year of coaching clinics for children aged six and 13.
The 2010 campaign, also known as the 'Come play with your hero's and Corolla' campaign kicked off in Durban on 1 August, with over 500 boys participating. The following weekend saw the clinic run as a CSI campaign at Buffalo Park, whereby with the help of Cricket South Africa, children from surrounding townships were bussed in to participate in the event.
The third and fourth clinics were held at Bidvest Wanderers with over 2000 people attending. Each clinic was littered with Proteas, including Toyota ambassador Shaun Pollock, SA speedster Makhaya Ntini, spin king Paul Harris and crowd favourites AB de Villiers and Morne Morkel.
Marius Vorster, Vice President: Marketing at Toyota South Africa, is delighted with another successful cricket development campaign,"Toyota South Africa places significant importance on the value of family. These events have created the platform from which we can develop the up and coming cricket enthusiast whilst ensuring that his family supports him and encourages him all the way. Because at the end of the day, it is Toyota's objective to ensure that whilst under our care, laughter, love and enjoyment is the match winning hat trick of the day!"
Toyota ambassador Shaun Pollock is pleased with cricket development in our country."It's events such as these that are run professionally and have the backing of powerhouses Toyota and CSA, that will ensure cricket remains healthy and strong in South Africa. I urge each parent who attended the clinic to remember the underlying message: encourage and support your child in every possible way without applying too much pressure. Allow your children to play and have fun, learning from their mistakes."
Toyota would like to thank Cricket South Africa as well as Lets Play for their support of this campaign.
